Reñ
Privacy
Last updated 16 August 2026
Reñ collects nothing, sends nothing, and has no account system. Your photos and measurements never leave your device. This is not a promise about what we choose to do with your data — the app has no way to transmit it.
What the app does with your photo
When you measure with the camera, Reñ holds a single frame in memory, reads the average colour of the small sample areas you position, and converts those readings to CIE L*a*b* numbers. The photo itself is discarded as soon as those numbers are taken.
The photo is never written to storage, never added to your photo library, and never uploaded. Reñ does not ask for photo-library access at all — it asks only for the camera, and only at the moment you choose to measure. You can use the whole app without the camera by typing L*a*b* values in by hand.
The Android app cannot reach the network
Reñ does not request the INTERNET permission. On Android, an app without that permission is blocked from opening a network connection by the operating system, not by its own code. You do not have to take our word for the claim on this page: the permission list on the Google Play listing is generated by Google from the app itself, and it shows Camera and nothing else.
No analytics, no tracking, no third parties
There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier, and no third-party service of any kind embedded in the app. Nobody receives a copy of your measurements, your season, or the fact that you opened the app — including us. We have no server, so there is nowhere for such data to go.
What is stored on your device
One thing: the app language you pick, if you override your device language. It is stored in the app's own private settings and holds a language tag such as ru. Nothing else persists — your measurements and your palette live in memory only and are gone when you close the app.
Deleting the app removes that setting along with everything else. There is no account to close and no deletion request to make, because there is no copy of anything anywhere but your phone.
Children
Reñ is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If a future version of Reñ ever gains a feature that needs the network — for example syncing a palette between your own devices — this page will say so before that version ships, and the change will be visible in the app's permission list.
